Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps on iOS in Kenya for Q2 2024

During the second quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Kenya showed varying performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here, we break down the trends for the top 5 apps: Google Maps, Google Earth, Nairobi Expressway, Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator), and Waze Navigation & Live Traffic.

Google Maps experienced relatively stable weekly downloads, fluctuating between 1.6K and 2.1K. The app saw an increase in active users at the beginning of the quarter, peaking at around 79.3K in mid-April, before gradually declining to approximately 72.1K by the end of June.

Google Earth had a modest download range, with numbers varying from 171 to 467 weekly downloads. Notably, active users showed a significant rise from 1.4K in late April to over 2.2K by the end of June, indicating growing user engagement.

Nairobi Expressway saw weekly downloads ranging between 160 and 281. However, there were no available data for active users or revenue metrics during this period.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) maintained a consistent download rate, with weekly downloads mostly between 122 and 197. The app also generated some revenue, peaking at around $12 in specific weeks, while active users remained stable, hovering around the 100 to 135 mark for most of the quarter.
